Dr Garza is a native Houstonian who has lived in Cypress for more than 30 years. He received his medical degree from the University of Texas Medical School – Houston in 1984 (now called McGovern Medical School) and continued with his Pediatric Residency there. He is Board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics. He has served as Chairman of the Department of Pediatrics at both North Cypress Medical Center and Cypress Fairbanks Medical Center. He served on the Board of Governors of North Cypress Medical Center for over 10 years. He is one of the founders of Steeplechase Pediatrics, incorporated in 1991. He and his wife Lisa are founding members of Stageworks Theatre in Houston. They both also serve on the Tech Team of the Worship Department of Salem Lutheran Church in Tomball. They have 2 daughters, Andrea and Hannah, as well as 5 grandchildren. Besides enjoying life with his family and friends, he loves gardening with native plants, working his farm, attending theatre, going to the beach and working out. Dr Garza is fluent in Spanish. He currently practices out of our Huffmeister and Cy-Springs locations.
